I’m someone who likes the calming effect of order. So it’s good to remind myself that disorder is okay too. Life and love is organic and mysterious, not rigid and classifiable.
Cracked Pavements
The pavement blocks are neatly square Yet sometimes cracks appear That does not mean the ground we share Will cave in to our fear Our life is not a spreadsheet Nor days like numbered cells There is no sum when hearts meet Nor code to break love spells The branches of a tree diverge The roots spread deep and wide Yet water and sunlight converge Like beaches and the tide.
